Bucks CC entered the Bucks Sport Awards 09 for the first time having seen regular success in the local FA/Aylesbury Vale South Sports Council Awards. The Bucks Sport Awards are similar to the AVSSCA in that all sports in the area are covered not just football and obviously covers the whole of Bucks not just Aylesbury.

Therefore it gives the Club great pleasure seeing two successes for it's members:

Chairman Chris Paterson Won the Unsung Hero of the Year Award - very well deserved for a man who has given many years service and leadership, without Chris the Club would not be where it is today!

Volunteer Sharon O'Sullivan was a shortlisted nominee (runner up) in the Volunteer of the Year Award - Sharon was recognised for her varied roles in the Club including Child Welfare, Parent Rep Co-ordinator and Girls/Ladies Team Manager, the latter being crucial in the growth and diversity of the Club.

Chris unfortunately could not make the award dinner, Fixtures Secretary Kevin Turnbull attended on his behalf accepting the award from Athletic Champion Runner Iwan Thomas who also presented Sharon with her award.

Well done to both, something we should all be proud of.
