Bucks CC FC have done it again by winning the Berks & Bucks FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year 2008. Having won this prestigious award last year the Club continued it's development by raising the standard even further. The award notes the Community side of the Club with this years highlights being: Around £10k raised for charities since 2005 including the Willow Foundation and more recently the Wooden Spoon Haematology Unit. Ongoing support to Booker Park School (assisting them in gaining FA Charter Status) and Pebblebrook School. Assisting AVDC with their Street Soccer initiative to name a few. On the field the Club has also been successful with the most notable achievement being last seasons U15 Berks & Bucks Cup Triumph, five of this winning team now represent the County!
Bucks CC FC Girls Team Managers of Sharon O'Sullivan and Trevor Scales collected the award on the Clubs behalf at a pre-match presentation last Saturday at MKDons. The presentation was made by the Berks & Bucks County Welfare Officer David Lewis. Mike Ward, Club Secretary commented "We are extremely happy to have retained this award, we take the Community part seriously which is why we have supported the projects and charities we have. Sir Trevor Brookings visit to us and his endorsement last year was another highlight. Ultimately it all comes down to the commitment of the Committee, Managers, Assistants, Parent Reps, Players and Parents that makes a great Club, thank you all!".
